These legacy products are now superseded by our current product line.
We keep these legacy products in production for replacement use and in some cases, maybe simpler to connect in an existing system than the current model.
What are the Advantages of using a Legacy Product?
Legacy products can be defined as a product that is no longer be sold due to obsolescence, updated versions, or other factors. Legacy products are in every industry that has products that become updated at some point. Some companies, when it comes to their legacy product status, still keep them in stock for customers that still want to use them, and depending on the application or function it’s used for.
When considering which model of motion control products to use, it comes down to what the goal is and what kind of motor and application that is going to be driven. A legacy drive is sometimes preferred in cases where a certifying body, such as UL, CSA or TÜV SÜD, have certified a machine as a whole. This generally disallows main component changes without recertification, a process that is both costly and time consuming. We recommend using a known-commodity drop-in replacement like our legacy products in these cases.
